A beautiful Sunday on Skyline Drive
I picked up my new 2006 999s on Saturday and without hesitation booked my 600 mile service for this Tuesday. The salesman and servic manager both chuckled probably having heard this before.
I woke up today and it was absolutely beautiful out. I started at 8 AM and went through Middleburg, VA the heart of horse country. There were a lot of riders out. Mainly Harley guys. After a great breakfast, I headed out 66 west to Front Royal, VA and the begining of the Skyline Drive. For those who don't know, the Skyline Drive is the continuation of the Blue Ridge Parkway when it enters Shenandoah Park. It's about 100 miles of curves with no towns, stoplights or commercial trucks. I went all the way to the end and turnes around and came back. Awesome ride on an awesome new bike. The final mileage 525.
Enjoy the pics.

Nice pictures! Would have been a great day to ride up there. I only live 35 minutes from Skyline Drive. Too bad my bike looks like something from Terminator right now (all the fairings are off). I have a bad feeling by the time I get my new fairings in it will be too cold to ride again.

I'm actually planning the same ride this weekend, if i can work it to spend 2 days i'm gonna strap my tent to the back seat of SS and get a back country permit. Glad to hear the ride was a blast, congrats on your new 999s!
