dang, I've been holding off logging my weekend jaunts because I don't have a camera, actually not true there's a old pocket 35mm somewhere around the house. My problem in the pic dept is stopping to snap off the shots.

I've logged 13k since mid-May (due to budget restraints that's not as much as I'd love to have ridden) some of that in Oregon, Idaho, little of MT but of course the bulk of it is in northern CA. My various rides north entail paying the price of two hours slabbing on I-5 (one-way) but after that it's like 700 miles of little traffic and lots of turns.

The ST3 is grounded presently until I come up with $$ for service, rotors, axle etc...It's very depressing not being able to ride on my free time.

Next jaunt I'll post up

I post reports and photos of my day rides and regional trips on the Northwest forum. Those pale in comparison to some of the ride-a-thons I have seen posted on this forum.

OK, Bill, here's a small tour I went on a couple weeks back. Went with three friends riding: BMW K1200S, BMW R1100RS, & BMW R1150 GS. I was on my '02 998 that I had set up with the Biposto seat. Strapped a Sealine bag over the rear seat loaded with camping gear. Headed out from CT to Rocky Gap SP in MD. It was about 475 mi. from my house. The ride down was all highway so it was fairly quick. Now here's the gem...Rocky Gap SP is really nice. In fact, we liked it so much we are planning more rides down there from New England. Riding some of the backroads from the SP through Berkely Springs over to Winchester, VA was pretty nice as well. For folks in the Northeast it's definitely worth taking the time to get down there and explore.

I have a ride that I can do a small write-up on later that I did in late july. The wife and I on our monsters with 2 friends did a 3day tour of the black hills. It was a great time. Here is a quick pic from Crazy Horse.

I hope to do some good rides next year but will be actively competing in a race series so we'll see how I can juggle the two.
