20k+ miles on MTS1200 - how goes it?

My 1200s is chugging on just fine at 21,000 miles.

Only gripe is that it's getting harder and harder to find Neutral, and even when you do, the display might not agree (still showing gear 1 or 2 while actually in Neutral).

I've had a few starts where error EXVL is showing too, but that seemed temporary.

Anyone else getting up there in miles as well? Any issues?

No issues at 22,000 miles.

I would still like to make a tighter left U turn.

Test rode the MTS yesterday and am seriously thinking of buying one. My 'only' issue is some of the problems I've been reading about. I ride 10-12,000 miles/ year and some of these problems concern me, due to all the 'lonely' places I ride too. Comments/opinions from anyone with miles on their MTS?

23K miles here (should be 35K; damn hoarfrost). No problems. Big trip in September; I'll post a link to the RR here (on ADVRider.com). Gotta pack for (airline) trip to China for 3rd son's wedding.

PS. Countershaft removal all good: 15/42 is the ticket!

I had the same concern coming off a dead-reliable V-Strom. Do what I did - buy a new one with an extended warranty. Mine is 7 years. Now at least it won't cost me anything more, albeit riding time if it's not reliable after the warranty runs out. Having done a ton of research before I bought it, though, I don't think high miles is going to be an issue any more than the competition (GS, Tiger, etc.).

37,000k or about 23,000 miles I think . Porous head around 25,000k mark. aside from that , I cant recall anything else of note. Gearbox still sweet.
