I stopped into my Dealership Friday and had the rear brake blead. The process was impressive. Remove the passenger set, exhaust can, rear wheel, and finally the caliper. Evidently the best way to do this is to hold the caliper at or above the resevoir.
I did this to establish a baseline because of all the complaints I read and I am not aware of a problem. I went for two different rides, city and highway, and used the rear brake more. The ABS prevented me from locking up, but it did stop the bike well; not as well as the front.
I will pay attention to the function of the brake to see if it fades, and I will run it in the dirt to see if it is more effective now.
