shhh... MTS12 + Pirelli Rosso Corsa
I'm almost hesitant to share this, but some secrets are too good to keep...
The OEM tires on my Multi were shot at 3k miles. For kicks, I had some Pirelli Rosso Corsas spooned on.
I'd previously found the MTS12 to be less nimble than my KTM 950SM (on Corsa IIIs), with more effort required to turn in and a resistance to finishing corners. I thought it was due to a longer wheelbase and differences in geometry.
It's not. On these hi-po street/trackday tires the difference in handling vs. the OEM tires is like the difference between Urban and Sport modes. Seriously.
The bike is now ridiculously nimble, changing directions effortlessly with near endless grip. Adjusting lines is telepathic, and the road feels 50% wider. I find myself apexing later and later, just for the thrill of throwing it over on the side.
I don't need a pseudo-adventure bike. I want a comfortable superbike. With these tires and the 2011 updates (that provide creamy-smooth fueling), I now have one.

Nice.
I have a set ready to go on my SFS.
Did you notice any changes in your traction control with the switch to these?
Thanks for any information.
Cheers

I changed to Pirelli Rosso Diablo after a trackday last year. "What did you expect. The Scropion tire isn't made for track use." as my dealer told me after I had been out on the track and started to slide in corners at ridiculously slow speed... I haven't used mine on track since the change but it feels better - this without saying that it wasn't good for road use before..

Any idea on what mileage you'll get out of them?

I get about 3k out of the rear on my 950SM, with no traction control and about the same torque....and a very heavy right wrist.
I imagine I'll get the same from them on the MTS12, though I only got 3k out of the Scorps.
This could get expensive, so I may have to move to something sport-touring oriented, such as Pilot Road 3s when these are shot. Or not.
No change in traction control behavior yet, but I've only put 150 miles on them so far.
I'm gonna put 'em on my MV so all my scoots have the same shoes!

Yep I have those exact Rosso Corsa tires on my Streetfighter for almost a year now. It should be a night and day difference from what came on your Multi from the factory.

Had a set of Corsa III's and they lasted me 7500km, and 3 track days. Great tire, you'll see more life out of that tire than you're expecting.

They look great for dry/clean road riding, but I'd hate to be leaned over in a corner and hit some water.
I think the PR3s will be better "all rounders".

I went from a Diablo Corsa III to the Michelin Pilot Road 2s on my MTS 1200 S Touring.
The differences I noticed were more stability with the Michelins, a more consistent ratio when applying pressure to lean the bike over (not a flop over to the side of the tire). Actually more traction (I spun the Corsa III several times leaned over) I not having to constantly correct my line on the Michelins like I did on the Pirellis. The Michelins do steer slower but on the street I not sure you need that fast of a rate. The Corsa mileage was poor coming in at 3k.
I can say I am not a Pirelli man, but I know folks who swear by them.
-Enjoy your new tires
