I remember reading an article from MCN (Motor Cycle News) an English magazine about a 916 with a TL motor, apparently it is a relatively straight forward swap, with only some engine mounts needing changing.
I wouldn't do it though.
Although having ridden a TL1000R I have to say that the bike is not great but the motor is a good one............
