2011 Diavel Brake/Turn Signal override, Termi connection

I bought a used 2011 Diavel in 2012. It came with the Termi full exhaust, loved the sound. The bike did not run great from the get go. I took it to Seacoast in NH and they did the best they could to adjust the FI. It improved, but not fixed. I added the temperature probe resistor, it improved, not fixed.

One day as I was riding with my buddy and stopped at a light waiting to make a right turn, my buddy said that my rear blinker would quit blinking when I applied the brakes. We pulled over and check, he was correct. I though this was a safety issue and reported it to the dealer. They said it had been fixed, but when I received the bike, no change. They eventually found that the computer that comes with the Termi exhaust (early release I think) was at fault. A new computer was installed and now the brake does not override the signal lights.

The icing on the cake is that the FI system works excellent. No more surging and flat spots @3-4K rpm's and just much more precise anywhere in the throttle range.

The bike is a sweetheart now that the fueling is sorted and the turn signals work correctly.

I have heard about this issue also with 2011 Diavels with the full termi on early models. The information I heard was that the early model termi ecu's were experience cross over electric issues with the tailights....Ducati was aware of the problem and then re-mapped a new ECU to go with the termi full system. The guy I got my bike from had one of the first diavels to arrive in So-Cal and had to wait 6 months before ordering his termi exhaust system per the dealer. The bike runs perfect, no surging and zero electrical issues.

Well, glad you got it fix eventually. Most of the 2011 warranties might be coming to an end soon so I wanted to let other early bike owner know that there is a fix and to check their break/turn signal interaction.

Happy trails.
