Two elements separate BMC CRF filters from their other models. First, where airbox dimensions permit, the surface area of the cotton filter element has been increased with a reshaping of the filter’s frame. This greater surface area allows air to pass through the filter more easily as resistance to efficient airflow is reduced when gases travel from the atmosphere, through the airbox (and air filter!) and ultimately into the combustion chamber. This unique shape is made possible by the second innovation of the BMC CRF filter; its carbon fiber frame. Manufactured from pre-impregnated carbon fiber, the skeleton is light and strong yet easily withstands the heat and vibration common in racing engines. We have noticed that BMC CRF air filters are half the weight of their already light OEM-replacement air filters.
All of these technologies have been derived directly from BMC’s efforts in Formula 1, WSBK & MotoGP racing.
Best of all, just like BMC street and BMC race air filters, the cotton filter element can be regenerated and reused as needed making it a one-time performance investment.

All BMC CRF Ducati 1098/1198 air filters come pre-oiled and securely packaged. In addition, you can choose between a complete BMC CRF Ducati air filter kit which includes carbon fiber velocity stacks along with the CRF air filter or just the air filter itself!

Inside the Ducati BMC CRF air filter, a carbon fiber cone is located at the center to distribute incoming air more efficiently as it travels to the combustion chambers of the 1098 or 1198 motor.
