The all new Alpinestars GP Tech Air Leather Jacket is the top of the line race jacket from Alpinestars. This ready-for-track sport jacket features 1.3mil full grain leather that is fully perforated to keep you cool on the street or track-side. CE approved armor in the elbows and shoulders and pockets for both chest and CE approved back protector give you 360 degree protection. Exterior TPU hard parts at the shoulders and elbows up the ante of the protection package. A perforated speed hump and removable bodywarmer thermal liner round out this feature-full package.

how would you say this compares to the Dainese Del Mar? Same softness in the leather? I only ask because the both of them seem on point in terms of price, so if you would, could you give me a brief synopsis comparing the 2?

Also, when are you expecting to have these jackets in?

There are several differences between the Dainese Delmar and the Alpinestars GP Tech Air. I am going to only speak on the perforated version of the Delmar, even thought it is offered in a perfed and non-perfed version. The GP Tech has a removable thermal vest, while the Delmar has a fixed 3-d Bubble liner. The GP Tech can take back and chest protectors, the Delmar can only take a back protector. The Delmar is made from Dainese's unique D-skin leather that has silicone injected into it's surface for better feel and improved abrasion resistance. The Delmar can be upgraded with the Dainese Neck 5 for additional neck protection.
Both jackets are high-end technical sport jackets from respected manufacturers. Ultimately, I think it will come down to personal preference, as from a safety standpoint, both jackets are on par with each other. The Alpinestars GP Tech Air is expected to ship early April.

The Alpinestars GP Tech Air Leather is now available. The price of the jacket is $899.95. You can check our site for current availability, but as of right now, I do show the Black, size 54 as in stock.
