New MS1200 Owner, frustrated with topcase
Hi,
I have read many interesting posts on this site and in these forums. I decided I should join, and contribute my own insights.
I am in love with my Multistrada 1200 S Touring. It is an amazing machine, an incredible feat of engineering. I enjoy every second I spend riding her.
I wish I could say the same for the over-priced Ducati topcase I received today. It is the most expensive plastic box in the world. Worse, the latch is defective, it doesn't unlatch, I have to force the case open.
I'm not going to let this incident, and my present frustration, impinge on my enthusiasm for the bike itself.
Cheers,
Nick

Take it back to where you bought it from and whine at them to fix or replace it ,make it right...
It is made to be lightweight ...
There are posts here with pics of the instructions ..
Did you do the install ?

@Casey: right now, that case of yours is pretty attractive
@Scott: I plan to take it back to the dealer and have them replace at least the latch if not the whole case. I followed the instructions to the letter, the latch is simply defective. I searched the threads for topcase instructions and didn't find any. If you have a thread, please shoot it to me. Thanks.

I took it back to the dealer. They tried a new box. On this one, the latch would latch fine, but would unlatch as soon as you unlocked the box. Their technician worked with it for a while, trying to get it to stay latched. In the end, they gave me my money back. I still need a top case, I guess I'm going to look at the aftermarket Givi cases.
