Sicom rotors!

Look what just arrived in our shop! Full floating CF rotors by SICOM! These are just like GP and the kit comes with rotors, pads, and new pistons.

For comparison, the OEM Rotors on the 1098/1198 weigh about 1340 grams (Nearly 3 lbs) each, while the SICOM are coming in at 875 grams (1lb 14 OZ)!

They are available for other model bikes, so be sure to check with us!

Surrender now and order your own set!

Would these be appropriate for street use? I thought I read at some point that the brakes have to be extremely hot for carbon to actually build up enough friction to stop a moving vehicle. I guess these are for track use only?

No, these (and the Brake Tech ceramics) are street-legal rotors. Unlike the carbon brakes used in MotoGP, these do not have lengthy warm-up times.

This is actually and easy one...

1st. Braketech CMC's are not available, and when they finally do become available again, their price is set to rise to virtually the same level.

2nd. The Sicoms are a higher performing rotor with better braking times/shorter distances than the braketech CMC's, which, while also ridiculously lightweight and beautiful, perform on par with SS rotors as far as actual braking performance is concerned.

I have no idea what fapping is, but Cycle world tested the BrakeTech CMC rotors in a head to head comparison (in July I think) and found that while they certainly do weigh considerably less, they don't have actually stop the bike better.

Personally I am a huge fan of the CMC rotors, but that doesn't mean there isn't something better.
