What do these clamps do??
The Clamps come with a new Dust seal, but do not come with a new bearing, you can reuse your stock bearing or for $50 we will install a new bearing before shipping.
These are in stock now no waiting.
The advantage of these clamps is mostly at the race track, doing track days or racing.
The stock offset is 36 MM, these are 30 MM.
30 MM offset adds 6 MM of trail, this allows the bike to finish the turn better, allowing you to get on the gas sooner and hold your line better as well as better "feel" for what the front end is doing.
That same 6 MM change shortens the wheelbase making the bike turn faster and with less effort.
On the 848 you will need to cut off a small section of the stock steering stop.
These will work with most steering dampers.
They use all Stainless steel bolts.
Please torque ALL 8 MM bolts (thread Dia) to 20 Ft lbs.
Some feedback from Users:
"Within 1 lap my first "real" time out w/ these clamps... HOLY SHEEEYAT THESE ROCK!!!!!!!
Best $$$ I have spent on my 848 BY FAR. She turns, carves, and finishes the corners and is OH so stable.
I am one happy camper, and can't wait for VIR in just over a week
IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GETTING A SET OF CLAMPS, BUY THESE CLAMPS, PERIOD!"
"Wow.
These make the bike - period. I just got done riding 3 days at NJMP with them this past weekend and I'm impressed with the improvement they made on the 848.
The 848 always seemed a bit lazy; I'd have to really fight the bike to turn it in places and it was trickier to negotiate lap traffic than my old R6.
This fixed all that and more... the bike flicks in effortlessly and is solid on exit. I heard it all weekend... "you rip through the chicane and pull hard out of it...". I got to run 2-3 laps behind Arnie Hastings on his 999 and actually kept close with this change. If only I had his traffic management skills... LOL. In any case, I'm sold on the 30mm triples.
For reference, I was turning 1:33s, dipping into the 1:32s at NJMP with track day traffic running the same config as Moto-ST. My 848 has had all it's suspension done by Dan, uses his recommended settings, has a stock motor and a set of Arrow slip-ons. Time to do the rear suspension mods I've been putting off... Dan?"
"Guys this triple makes all the difference in the world to this bike. I dropped 3 seconds and for the first time could complete long sweeping turns without fighting the bike!!! "
"
These triples absolutely make the bike handle like it should!!! I haven't done a track day yet (Nov. 2nd) but I did a test ride in the canyons and have no problems holding my line and no more running wide. Besides suspension work, these triples are best mod I've done!
duc1098, Dan told me to start with 13mm above the clamp, I have the 803s so there's no lines so I had to measure from the top of the gold part of fork to the top of triple clamp. hope this helps somewhat."
"When I tossed on the triples I went with the top of the triples right on the 2nd line (from the top) of the fork tube.
Otherwise, the better measurement to use is... 18.5" from the bottom of the TOP triple, to where the dust seal meets the fork tube. This was exactly back to STOCK ride height, and the bike was magical. I have since dropped the rear ride height a bit... but not much. Handling is vastly improved, and the stability is what is really making me happy "
"Thanks, Mark. My 1098$ sees double duty as a street and track bike.
The 30mm Offset Triples have been a very worthwhile investment, with the payout being stability AND quick-turning. I would highly recommend it both for the street rider looking for agility in the twisty bits, and the track-day rider looking for a less tiring ride. "
"All I can say is that these 30mm triples absolutely transform the bike! Not sure if you need them for road use but they are sensational on the track. Bike steers so much better and gives the rider more control & feedback with LESS EFFORT.
Can't understand why Ducati didn't make a 30mm offset as standard on the 1098."
