848/1098/1198 Akrapovic EVO full Exhaust System Titanium

The Akrapovic EVO full system, Titanium, ultra light, much better made, much better fitting than the Termi.

These are available with either a Carbon or Titanium muffler, the Titanium muffler has a corbon tip on the end.

Current retail on these is over $3500

Our price $2599 Same price for either muffler

Akrapovic exhaust 1198s

I just replaced a set of Termi slip-ons on my 1198s with a full Akrapovic race system. Along with the install I had my dealer dyno-tune the system with a PC III. The results fell well short of Akrapovic's claim of a performance enhancement to 163.0 hp. I experienced little to no gain in middle to top end torque and power over the Termi slip-on notwithstanding the addition of a full header. The best that we were able to get is 148 hp. At a price around $4000.00 I expected to see results at lease in the mid-150s. Falling so short of Akrapovic's claim is certainly a disappointment.

To give some credit to Akrapovic, I have not increased the airbox size or tuned the cams. Perhaps with that work completed I will come closer to my expectations. With the 1198s Evo motor being new, perhaps I am missing something that is not yet obvious to me.

Has anyone else tried the full Akrapovic system and seen better results? Any advice?

Thanks

Considering... but I have a few questions.

Hey Dan,

What about controlling the fuel mapping on the 1198. My stock 1198 backfires constantly when the throttle is closed during deceleration. Will the full Akropovic system fix this problem because it is bypassing the O2 sensors, but cause new problems with the stock ECU?

I'd much rather get a full titanium system, than the Full Stainless Termi. Plus I've read a few places that the full Termi is burning up the fairings because it doesn't fit tight enough and gets too hot.

Thanks for your time. Seems like a great price too, but is that with install? If not how much to install (with/ without dyno run)?

Lucas

I have about 1000 miles in LA during the summer on my 1198s with a full ermi system and have had no isues with any fairings burning up. I can say that it does not do much for the heat...as my ass still gets roasted...but the sound is 2nd to none. Also the kick in the pants in the upper rev range is very nice and no low end loss. Quite happy...but still backfires under heavy decel...so might need some more tuning (nem or pC). Will see
