True enough, which is why the RYCA option is great. Uses the crappy Suzuki BLVD S40 with the 650 twin, probably the most expendable pile of shit ever, as a donor to put their kit on. Makes a decent looking cafe bike and doesnt chop up something classic. Still though, Id rather have a Formula 450 with a street title...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. Sure, it's sad to see a good old Norton or Triumph get chopped up. But many of the bikes, like the one I am building, come from spending $150 on a frame and a box of parts from a rusted neglected piece of crap. I like to think I'm giving my unloved pile of parts a second chance a becoming something more than it once was. Of course, I just have an XS650, which Yamaha built about a billion of - not something collectible. I'm glad this "cliche" style of bike is taking off and taking over the raked out, unrideable, ear drum busting, chrome slathered, "choppers." Now that is a trend I never understood. Let's spend $40k on a bike that can't even be ridden. Yay!

I'm going to have to say more than half! I have a feeling that it's going to become an addiction...
Love old bikes. Love Ducatis. Gonna have to talk the boss into letting me build up an old Duc next!

Well....... the cafe fad has been going on since the thirties. As a matter of fact the Bevel 750-900 SS has been referred to as a cafe bike.........
