Monster Ign on BevelHead
Here is a pic of the Monstor ignition I use on my '75 860 GT. Does anyone else run this? It is a very clean set up and eliminated a lot of problems + the advance curve seems to work quite well.

That looks impressive. It must have been a lot of work to fit it?

It was quit easy to install. I bought the kit from a guy in the USA but I think he picked it up down under. It was also a big improvement on performance and if I ever need to replace the sensors, they're a shelf item from Ducati.
I just had back surgery last week, so It'll take me a while to find the paper work but I'll post it when I can.
Also, i may not ever be able to ride this again. So I'm most likely going to sell it. The engine is out of the frame now & needs some wrist pin bushings and tower bearings. I don't know if I'll be able to put it back together so I may have to sell it as a basket case
before set backs & engine mods
This pic shows the old upgrade ignition, there is nothing on that tower now
with set backs, I still have the other seat & clip ons.

Koksan coversion kit, sounds familiar. Hmmmm
I found the invoice, I bought it from Miller Specialties and it is listed as a Kokosan conversion kit. I installed it in 2003. Soooooo, who made this originally?

When I asked Ian Gowenlock what would be a better replacement ignition, he said if you can get your hands on a Kokosan conversion kit and use monster pick-up and coils she will start every time and will run super smooth, he than commented on how he had been looking for years and couldnt find one. I didnt have the heart to tell me that I found one 2 weeks later and 6 months past that I told him, I have not seen another one to this day for sale
Kokosan conversion to my understanding was put out by kokosan in Japan for a very limited run, I'd dare to say if a complete kit with pick-ups etc etc and was worded correctly it would fetch $800+ just because of the range of old girls out there
Mine was NOS and I paid AU$400 landed for mine , the rest cost me AU$150

Thanks for the info. Mine was NOS also. I wonder if there is a market as I could reverse engineer the mounting plate & rotor. My brother owns a digital inspection table (& biz) and could draw up plans for exact machining.
I remember when I got it, the install instructions for the electrical part was incorrect and I could only get it fired up on one cylinder. A friend had a Monster & I looked at his wiring & I discovered that one of the coils in the series had to have the wiring reversed. After that, one or two kick to start. The timing never needs adjusting.
