520 sprockets for Bevel Twins?

Converting to 520 chains seems like an easy way to lose a little (rotating / unsprung) weight. Certainly would be strong enough for the 60-70 HP...

520 chains are easy. Does anyone carry the sprockets?

My research reveals the front sprocket is what's hard to source. The rear is avail, and the chain is readily avail.
Ducati Kamna is currently out of stock.

"...Steel front sprocket with 15 teeth in 520 size.
When you use newer tyre types it can be necessary to use a smaller 520 chain instead of the 530. Therefore we offer this conversion parts.
!!!ATTENTION, CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE, PLEASE ASK BEFORE ORDERING!!! ..."

I'll keep looking... Thanks!

I'd thought I might take one by a mechinist to get it turned down to accept the 520 chain. BTW, are you running non-O ring. I decided to and it's essentially the same size as the modern O-ring 525, width wise that is because I was concerned with case wear on the wider o-ring 530.
I really can't see the need for o-ring on the bevel, it want see the miles nor weather the ST might. And, since I started out years ago with non-o-ring I'm not really concerned with the supposed wear and stretch. Heck, I put
over 30,000 miles on a Honda 750 K1 running a combine (agricultural) chain.
And that in a 1 1/2 years time.

I am out of stock but notmally carry 15 and 16 tooth front sprockets for bevel drive twins. I am awaiting an order from PBR in Italy of 530 front sprockets and when I get them in I will forward several of both sizes to a sprocket manuf here to cut down and then harden for me as per usual.

My question is answered. Steve, advise here when avail and we'll go from there.

Any disadvantage to running 520 vs. 530?

Hi Mitch, please send me an email that I can file so that once available I can easily get ahold of you. I probably won;t remember to post it here. The 520 conversion is a lighter chain and both sprockets will be lighter as well. If you get a top shelf 520 chain it should last like a good 530 does on our bevels - as in VERY long.
