Mikuni carbs

Put a set of Mikuni 38s I had on the 750 GT today. She runs much better.
I'm just curious if anyone can tell me the correct set up sequence for these carbs. And a source for turtle back air filters too.
Thanks

I just gave up on the Mikuni carbs today. I had them running perfect after she warmed up last night. Then this evening all the carbs would do is flood the plugs out before I could even get her to do more than spit and try to start.
I guess it's time to order the complete rebuild kit for the Dellortos.

Gawd, I hate carburetors now. And to think I use to not like Fuel injection.
I may have to micro squirt the beast before it's over with....

Sounds like you are suffering the normal Mikuni sticking float needle syndrome.
The least little ort of crap in the float valve will make them pee. Usually a good rap on the side of the float bowl with something substantial will stop the flow but a good filter is a must. The Dellortos don't seem to be as prone to flooding, probably due to the Viton tipped float valves.

I ordered the kit for the Dells Wed. Hauled them over to a big ultrasonic cleaner today and brought them home and made sure every jet and passage in them was open. Waiting on the kits now.. I do like the acel pump on the Dells since my TM38 Mikunis didn't have a pump...

Robert,
I think you'll be happy with the Dellortos once they're back on there.

I gave up on the Mikuni conversion for the bevel. Got the rebuild kits from Bevel Heaven and today was a rain out afternoon so I rebuilt the Dells and their back on the bike. I'm also getting some Iridium plugs for it.

I think I'll just look at the bike and carbs for a few weeks before I try kicking it again...
