Help identify and price this bike

Hello,

iv found a clasic ducati for sale recently. Went to check it out, but have some questions. The owners says its an 1956 Ducati 125s (or 125 sport). I tried to fond pictures over the internet, but most of them where different. Specially the fuel tank, and other small things. He told me only the back light is not original, he bought it in italy, and restaurated. I think the color is also not original.

could you please help me about this bke, and maybe post some pictures how should this look like.
What do you think about the price? He is asking around 2300€ (3100$).

thanks in advance

Looks like a TS to me. That's a TS tank and the brake/fork/headlight mounts look wrong for a Sport. Color is certainly not stock.

here's a 125 Sport for reference:

I have no idea what it might be worth. IMHO it's unfortunate he chose those colors... here's what (one version of) a stock TS tank would have looked like.

EDIT: I'm no expert on frame numbers (US bikes from that era didn't have them) but I'm guessing the "125TS" in the frame stamp is an indication too... :-)

+1 its definitely a 125 TS. Doesn't seem a bad price though, assuming it runs OK.

engine is in perfect condtition, its runs smooth at first attempt.

i really like the blue color scheme on the sport, should i paint the TS like that, or it makes it "non-original".

It's already non-original, nothing you can do will ever make it original again. Paint it anyway you like.

Run!! there has to be somthing wrong with it if the engine runs smoothly!!!

kidding...thats a beautiful bike and the price makes it even more attractive. i would bet that bike might fetch $6500 U.S. to the right buyer on ebay even being a non origional color / restored bike.
