Ducati biggelaar.... uh?..... what?...

Yesterday I met a bike parts shop owner here in Israel, a close friend. I told him about the Ducati I'm working on and when I showed him the "before" pictures he was shocked, telling me that this bike had the parts from a Biggelaar.

Now... what is Biggelaar (spelled right?) I'm not really sure... he said that back in the '80 there was a tourist in Israel that came with his Biggelaar, that specific biked raced a 24 hours races in Australia (know of any back than?). After several months he sold that bike to a local buy that took most parts from that bike and assembled them into my SSD. He told me about specific parts that I have in my bike like the levers I had, modified carbs, starter & a kick and more. He also told me that I should really look for that first owner (after the Australian racer) as he got the seat, fairings etc. of the Biggelaar hanged on his garage's wall.

What the hell was he talking about? what's that Biggelaar thing and who was that Australian racer that left his bike in Israel?

Lior.

The racer - no clue

Biggelaar is easier, but you might need google translate welkom bij Biggelaar special performance

An Australian motorcycle endurance race - we used to have the 6 hour, but I don't know about 24?

PS If it was the 6 hour, you can peruse entry lists by year here http://www.the6hour.com.au/content/history1980.html
