Gt 750
I'll need a brake master cylinder, I've found a Scarab master and since the front brake is a Scarab I thought I go back original. Do they work fine? I'll also need a few other bits but not much really. Mostly just need to clean the tank, Por 15, and ride it... Oh yea, probably could use some tires (the ones on it are mid 80's vintage...

The Scarab's are awful, they leak from the cap. Go for something safer like a Brembo or Lockheed.

I have to agree, but more from a perspective of feel of the stock system (although they do have a reputation for leaking). I run a lockheed with single disc on my 74 sport and a brembo with dual discs on my 73 GT, and they stop pretty good. (the GT is better with dual disks - in fact it is reasonable even by modern standards).
The stock Scarab has a very "wooden" feel, but I think this more an issue of master cylinder to slave cylinder ratios. You can acheive a more progressive feel by changing these by boring/sleeving your master cylinder. More good info on this here:

If you plan on actually riding the bike with any vigor, I would suggest Brembo caliper and master, SS brake line and galfer greens. I have a complete kit for the roundcases available, good tires too.

yea I do, plan on riding it. I was on your site and saw those brembo's and that's the route I'll be going. Just waiting on the bike to get here right now
so I can determine what all I'll be needing. You'll be getting a call for sure.

Good deal, I usually do eventually if not immediately when folks get a new to them bevel or pantah Have fun with it, make a list of what you see needs done and I will be glad to help you put a game plan together.
Talk to you later

anyone got a stock set of foot pegs, shifter and brake pedal they'd like to get shed of. Mine has a homemade set of rear sets on it and I'd like to put it back to stock and if not stock with close to stock components.

No, sorry, we kept ours and they are now back on the bike, it did have rearsets for a while, but has gone back to standard. Sorry
