Identifying camshafts

Hello

Can anyone help me identify the camshaft in my 250. I know that they are often described by colour; green, grey etc.

Is this colour marked on?

The camshaft in mine has no markings, no 'colour'.

Can it be identified by its dimensions?

Thanks
Mat

The colour is usually a dab of paint on the centre of the shaft where the thread is.

Unfortunately there is no paint. I suspect that, that was cleaned off in rebuild years ago.

I've just stuck the callipers across the lope and they measure 29.4mm and 30.9mm. do these sound familiar to anyone?
