Repair/restore Koni shocks

Hey all,

Any of you repaired/restored a set of Koni shocks?

Mine stamped Koni Special "D", they function well but I want them to look 100% new... meaning I'll have to rechrome them, polish, paint the springs etc. and while doing that... replace what needs to be replaced on the inside...

Any reference to manual, pictures, thread or anything that you know of?

Otherwise I'll just have to try and learn

Thanks

Lior.

They are still manufactured under the name IKON, in Australia, and I believe that a repair kit is available.

Lior,
Those shocks look to be in good shape ( ie, no leaks, straight shafts and little rust). I would just use a spring compressor to get the springs off and do the ususl blast and re-coat them if needed. Buff the alloy bits and paint the bodies. You might even be able to get the triangular Koni decals.
