Dry clutch on bevel SS?
My friend has a dry clutch on his 900SS (started life as a damaged S2).
I can't find any info, particularly manuals or parts list with info on the dry clutch.
Anyone got any ideas?
Mainly, the clutch doesn't like to fully disengage, and the basket appears to have some play. Had that on my ST2, replaced the bearings and problem solved, but can't find an exploded view of this clutch.
Thanks,
Tom

OK, discovered the 'Mille' has a dry clutch, and found a parts catalog on Bevelheaven, but no workshop manual.
Anyone got a workshop manual for the 'Mille'?
Also, the 'Mille' has a hydraulic clutch, this has a cable.
Anyone know what it could be from?
Thanks,
Tom

The square case bevel bikes never came with dry clutches. The one pictured is either from Vee Two Australia, or from Old Racing Spare Parts in Italy.

post 94 MHRs also have the new engine with dry hydraulic dry clutch.
but this is a bitsa, with roundcase bottom end, square case heads and square case timing covers. The clutch could perhaps be the one that you can see at bevel rubber (perhaps its the Vee2 one as Vee2 have been taken over)
I have seen this squarecase cover mod done on a french bevel forum but cannot find it at the moment. It would certainly be worth posting up on bevelheads.

perhaps also this might give some insight

No, it's an 860 squarecase from an '82 S2.

If the clutch adjustment is done without enough slack in the cable, you can end up with the actuator arm on the right side bottoming out on the counter shaft before complete clutch release. Incorrect pushrod instillation can result in the one of the pushrod pieces bottoming out on the step inside of the transmission shaft.

Is your friend able to remove the springs, take out and clean the plates and check the basket for play, either in the bearings or the rivets?
