Kickstart a single when warm

I think I'm asking this as much for others as I am for myself. There are innumerable posts asking for advice about how to kick start a single when cold, and I've figured my own technique (no choke, kick over until slight kick-back, bring it through completely and then let it come up, hit the tickler on the carb until there's a touch of fuel overflow, quarter-turn on the throttle, screw up courage and kick 'er down).

That's great when cold, but my question is, does anyone have any suggestion/alterations to this when the bike's been running for a while? Should you skip the tickler, or the throttle?

I don't have a choke and use the technique you describe exactly cold or hot. I don't think my 350 would start without the tickler. If it has a half-hearted attempt to start and kicks back it can take quite a few kicks so I like to get it right first time.

I'm with you, Remery: if I don't get it fired the first time I can be there a while. I use the tickler regardless, but I find that when I do get it restarted it runs a little chunky/rich for a minute or so.

Hot:
No tickler. Little or no throttle. Spin it to compression. Give her a swing and just barely blip the compression release at the same time if you have one.
Cold:
Same but with the tickler.

Always starts my 450 R/T first or second kick using this method.
