SD Darmah Complete Engine

Hey there,

As some of you know, I'm parting a SD without title to parts (can't get it back on the road )

It got a complete working engine that I'm trying to think... should I part it to bits and pieces and sell them all on ebay or sell it as complete engine?

What's the average price for such thing?

I'm not selling the parts just for fun, all is going back to fund my SSD restoration

Thanks!

Lior.

Hi Lior

Part it out , you'll end up with more for your rebuild , the Desmo heads alone should get you some were around the $2 to $3k the engine on its own you might get 4.5k if your lucky , Run an add at Bevel Bullsh!t and make sure you dont get treated like crap as that tends to be the norm by that bully

Cheers Marty

I'd try to sell it complete, and part it out if you can't find a buyer. If the carb stud spacing is right the heads are valuable, but the rest of the engine isn't in high demand. If your experience is like mine, after you sell a few of the expensive parts you're left with a big pile of stuff that no one wants to buy, but you may not be able to toss in the dumpster. Breaking an engine down and selling each part on Ebay is a huge job- photos, writing descriptions, calculating shipping, etc- if selling parts on Ebay is your business, then OK, but if you have other things to do, selling on Ebay is a big PITA. Plus, one Ebay crook can wipe out all of your profits and you've wasted a lot of time for nothing- the latest con goes like this- a guy buys your heads, replaces your nice cams and rocker arms with his worn out junk, and then demands a refund- Ebay/Paypal will give him his money back, and you're out shipping and now have nothing worth selling. If you can do a face to face sale for the engine, I'd do it.

PM me if you decide to sell the complete engine. Might be nice to have a runner while I rebuild the other.

I have a feeling the shipping costs from Israel will make it too expensive...

Hi,

I'm not sure shipping is that expensive...

Can anyone estimate the weight of a twin bevel motor?

Thanks,

Lior.
