bevel single electrical disaster

Well, my 1970 single was very nice looking but continued to have electrical gremlins. As I fixed one, another popped up- due to old, corroded, and poorly connected wires. So I bit the bullet and committed to a complete rewiring.

Armed with a wiring diagram, and a bike that would actually work sporadically, I replaced each wire- one at a time. carefully labelled and leisurely checking each bit with the wiring diagram, all went smoothly. My bike has no turn signals and the horn is dysfunctional. The ignition switch has only two contacts so does not operate as a three way (on and off only). Otherwise she's stock.

So job done, I turned the key and.... nothing. No ignition, no headlight, no taillight, no brake light. Nada. I checked everything. No grounding out. All contact soldered. new inline fuse blocks replacing the old poorly grounded antlers. Everything is AWG 14 except the battery ground, which is AWG12.

Help?
I don't even know what to do next.

Thanks
Sheldon

If you pull the two wires from the ignition switch and connect them together, does everything work then?

Probably not much help but on my 1968, if the battery was flat I would connect a 6V battery to one of the horn terminals and the other to ground and I could hear the "squeal" of the black box and that was enough to start it up.
