Poll: SD or SS instruments & cluster?
Hey there,
A moment before I'll start cutting and buying things... what say you? what should I use for my SD to SSD (kind of) project?.. an instrument panel and gauges of SS or the SD type (which I have sets 4 of....)
I opened a new thread as I can't add poll to my restoration thread
Thanks!
Lior.

I have a 900 S2, which uses the same instrument cluster as the Darmah SSD. I fitted an SS fairing straight over the S2's instruments and it works great. No mods needed and the ND instruments are bigger and more stable than the Veglia.

I would go with the 5 light as replacement copy gauges are really easy to get and relatively inexpensive. The lights are also easy to get and cheap. I am not sure about the SS clusters.
But the SS 3 light is far easier to wire up. Or you use the SS wiring diagram and dont use some of the lights non the SD.
Cheers

Hi Lior, I see you've gone for the SS dash.
I just happen to be restoring my '78 SSD at the moment and I'm wondering what you're doing with your old Darmah dash?
I've been trying to source dashlights for a while with no luck yet and your lights look to be in better condition than mine.
Would you consider selling me your old dash? Yes..I'm serious.

Sorry but I sold them (and 2 spares that I had...)...
I do have just the dash cover now for sale on ebay, not sure if it helps you in any way...
Good luck and do share some pictures
Lior.

No worries Lior, it's just the lights that I was after but it looks like someone else on here may be able to help me with them.
Hope all your work is coming along well. I'll keep an eye on your progress and I'll post some pics up of my project soon. I can't wait till it's finished, it's a lot of hard work but it's all coming together nicely.
This shot was taken a few years ago.
