Anodize Master Cylinder

I am restoring a 1973 duc 750 gt and the black anodizing on the master cylinder is beginning to fade and I want to restore it. I can't find anyone in Minnesota who does small parts. Anyone know of someone who does? Has anyone painted the MC with success, and looks near original?

Cheers! Cal

I'm about to do the same on my 76SS resto , Although I cant help you with finding someone in the US There is a little trick to Anodizing after you have it done

A Mate of mine did this to his 76SS some time ago and I must say they did come up great might be something to give a go after you have had them done

After the re-anodized Parts have been done, boil them up in vasaline petroleum jelly. This sealed them and made them come up really nice. 3 years later they look as good as new

MHR,

Thanks. I am having no luck finding someone in the states who seems to know how to reanodize the master and caliper. I would consider shipping to AU to get a good job. Do you have someone you would refer?

Cheers! Cal

Windycat,
I had my Laverda Brembo mastercylinders and calipers done in Brisbane, Australia a few years ago.The result was that they looked like new when finished. At the time they were charging $110 min cost for 3 calipers with extras at no cost. PM me if you want try them, but postage will be the killer. I will see if I still have photos.
You should also try a local electroplater to find out if he knows of someone over there who can anodise.

This is actually a good tip, I used this method on some parts for my bike years ago and it lives outside alot.
still looks good as new.
