'71 450 scrambler foot peg help

can someone please help me figure out how the rider foot rests are supposed to be mounted? From most of the pictures I've seen, they mount somewhere under the bike. Pictures would help.

should be bracket with footpeg itself. Pretty simple if you have all parts. Only have N/C bikes and think different from teh W/C frame you have. there is several single experts & collectors @sea/tac -- Bellevue Ducati owner, Rich in FedWay guru restorer, engine guy in Buckley and two guys in puyallup with giant stashes of parts.
