Clean title truck, no stories. Never abused. Bought/built just to not get my SUV dirty while on surf trips to Mexico and used occasionally for towing Jet Ski's to Mission Bay and dirt bikes to the track.
General info:
• It’s a 2002 Toyota Tundra 2WD V6 SR5 4 door Xtra Cab with 136K miles. It has power windows, locks mirrors, cruise control, AC, keyless entry, CD, etc… It has had no accidents, a clean Carfax, and I have the clean title in hand.
• It drives and corners like a European sports car that jumps! We retained all the things that makes a Toyota a reliable machine, and kept it VERY street drivable. I knew that 90%+ of my miles on the truck would be street miles getting down to Baja on the Coast Highway, so it was build/set up for that. I can do 90-100mph on the 5 and one finger it on the wheel. It tracks dead straight, and the bypass shocks are currently set up to ride very smooth on the highway. It was never raced, jumped or abused in anyway (I’m super anal with all of my toys).
The interior is 100% stock and VERY clean. I always had the molded WeatherTech mats and seat covers in it which protected the carpet. The carpet and org. mats are like new. The AC and Heat are perfect and work as new. Fluid changes and maintenance are always by the book.
Front end suspension:
• Total Chaos Long travel kit including:
• The complete upper/lower Long Travel Suspension kit
• Heim-Joint Tie Rod steering upgrade
• Upgraded steering rack urethane bushing kit
• Fully welded spindles and steering balls.
• 2.5 8” Sway-A-way coil-over rebuildable /adjustable shocks with By-pass reservoirs
• Limit strapped
• All stainless steel brake lines.
• Metal 1” race ball Uniball’s in place of all rubber bushings.
• Heavy duty steering rack
Rear suspension:
• Custom fabricated multi link long travel rear
• 18” Sway-A-Way 2.5" RaceRunner 3 Tube Piggyback Bypass Shocks w/ remote reservoirs.
• 6” Sway-A-Way 2.0" Hydralic Bump Stops
• Deaver G57 long travel leaf pack (sooo much more smooth now).
Build spec motor/driveline:
• The org. motor was replaced by Toyota at 100K miles. There was a recall on the heads of this motor in these years. The whole motor could be replaced if the motor suffered internal damage due to the bad heads. In the opinion of the service manager he wrote off the motor swap! This thing motor only has 30K miles on it. When the motor was out he did a full transmission rebuild/service including new input/output bearings, torque converter etc…
• The driveshaft is a custom made with aslip joint in the rear to cope with the long travel rear end. The custom built carrier bearing and frame support “unbreakable” u-joints on the driveshaft.
• The motor has ported and polished heads (I mostly just got smoother rev’s and better MPG’s from that) an AEM cold air intake, custom headers, tubing and Dynaflo exhaust (exits in front of the rear axle so the long travel would not interfere). Still gets an A+ on the SMOG machine.
Fabrication/body work:
• Custom tubular front end with aluminum skid plate holding 4 Hella off road lights.
• Custom rear bumper/tire carrier (I hold one in there, but it can hold 2 tires with a longer threaded rod). The entire rear assembly can be unbolted from the bed/chassis with 6 bolts to put the stock bumper/tailgate on if you wish.
• Custom through bed rear shock hoop to mount the 18” rear shocks and reservoirs. The bed still has ton of useable space for surfboards, bikes tools, camping gear etc.. The OEM metal bed floors/sides/supports are still 100% in-tact and it’s had an OEM bed liner on it since new.
• Custom fully welded and fabricated motor, transmission, carrier bearing and steering rack mounts.
• The front and rear body panels are from Glassworks Unlimited and they did the install. They’re in perfect shape, with no nics or cracks at all. It’s truly an OEM like installation (not like a lot of the backyard hacked up trucks you see around).
• The hood has race pins to hold it down in-case of a high speed accident.
• Original OEM black paint on the body/cab.
• ZERO rust on the frame, body. I power washed it down after every trip.
• The rear cage has a Class 3 trailer hitch welded in as well. I’ve only towed my jet skis to the beach and my dirt bike trailer a few times, but it did fine.
Wheels/ tires.
5 aluminum wheels and 5 brand new 31” BFG All Terrain tires with less than 750 miles (spare has never touched the ground)
Moving to NYC soon. I don't need this there! Asking $13K but bring your best offers, you might get lucky if I'm in the right mood.
