Me too...

I had to adjust my left sterering stop as the upper triple was hitting the tank. Also, the cut out around the ignition switch is skewed. I'll also assume that the rad cap is digging into the tank as well. *sigh*

I've got a small barely visible bump on the left side and a bulge on the right side about mid tank, near the plastic trim piece...my dealer is aware and states it will be replaced under warranty when the time comes...

My warranty claim was approved last week... Sucks, being a new bike and paying good money for it, we have these problems.

Squire, I have the exact same problem as you have - right side is popping out, with the uneven gap at the top of the key guard (right gap is slightly larger than left side).

I filed my complain to one of the local dealerships, and my replacement tank arrived 2 weeks ago. I had them to send out for interior coating to prevent the tank get contact with the crappy gas. The coating costs me $250 But I guess if coating does the job it is still worth...

I am still waiting for the coated tank arrive. Will report once installed...

There'a also an aluminum tank in the market already for the SF but is about 2G + another 300 for shipping.

Left hand front of my tank has swollen and now there is contact between my left master cylinder bolts and the tank, that has caused a chip in the paint. Right hand side of the tank down by the side panels has a 3 to 5 mm bulge approx 30 mm long where the tank meets the side panels. I voted in the poll above.
Will NOT be buying another Duc with a plastic tank.

Thanks for voting.

So we are seeing that roughly 1/3 SF tanks are showing signs of tank expansion. I bet that if this model had been out longer, like the Sport Classics, that the number of tanks with problems would be double.

I wonder what number a faulty party usually generates a voluntary recall? If this was a car, and something was wrong, where between 25-60% of a particular model or models had a serious problem, even if it was in most ways cosmetic, don't you think that there would be some sort of voluntary recall?

A lot of times those recalls are issued when the number of vehicles affected are far less than 66%, or even 30%.
