Post light switch and dash software upgrade - am I going nuts?
OK, I got the light switch replaced per recall, and apparently also needed a dash software update (#09-09079).
All easy-peasy but then I tried to reset the trip meter at the gas station. Prior to the software update, all I had to do was hold in the center button on the turn signal switch for a few seconds. Post-update this does nothing.
I call the shop and they say you have to hold the top switch on the cluster in while pressing the center button. Huh? Well, OK, it works.
Am I going nuts? Was I doing it wrong all along?
PS - after the software upgrade, the DTC was set to off and I did a nice big wheelie getting on the freeway. Good thing no CHPs nearby!

When I asked the service guy what the dash software update actually did, he said, "Ah, it's kind of like a reset. An update." Which didn't lead me to expect any functional changes.
So I checked the FAQ (this time) and there's nothing I can find on this dash software update. Anyone know what it's supposed to do?

I wonder what is up with the change? I realize that it is a "smart" dash that is able to re-purpose switches depending on what the function menu is set to. Is there an issue with the turn signal cancel button logic?
One thing that I would have rather liked is a dash similar in function to the 848evo (I could not find 1198 dash pics on the ducati site, but they list the same specs) We have to toggle to see time/trip/air temp. The superbike dash shows everything all at once so you don't have to play with the damn switches.
It would be nice if you could swap out our dash for that, but of course only if you knew the pin outs were the same on the harness and if the you had the immobilizer disabled like if you were running a MicroTec. Granted the dash is probably wider, wouldn't be a plug n play without a bit of work either integrating it or replacing the whole nose with another head light.... Just thinkin out loud.

I will do the recall fix tomorrow too... I still don't know that's the real issue behind this recall - but I did find that it is hard to cancel the signal. I have to really press on it a few time before it goes off....

I got a new dash with the new mileage reset function at 1k miles and it didn't change the turn signal cancel effort at all...it still takes a conscientous push...
