Ok, I said nothing about they way the bike looks, I just said it has the same engine and a similar seating positiong as the Multi1200. (And the Multi is not naked...No, it is not fully faired, but it has a 2 foot tall windshield and a beak that makes Jay Leno's chin look small.--definately not a naked bike).
Ok, comparisons:

Multistrada seating positioning

Mega-Huge-ol-Monster seating positioning
OMG I could have photoshopped a Multi1200 rider off of his bike and right onto the Diavel (or whatever those silly Italians are calling this thing)
And we know they have the same engine. Sooo, yeah, I can see a little bit of a similarity. It would be really dumb of Ducati to have an engine design that was only used in a single bike...Ducati probably said, "what else could we use this motor for??"--obvious response was, "Let's invade HD's market share and roll around naked in the cash!"
And, while I was looking for pictures of the seating position of the Multistrada 1200, I found this picture, which has nothing to do with this discussion, but I figured I'd share it anyway.
ooh just found this one too...great seating position!

Yes, the multistrada's engine is fully visible, but by that definition, I guess that BMW makes a crapload of naked motorcycles!! I had no idea that my old R1100RS which had pretty much a full fairing, except over the engine heads sticking out was a naked bike in your view!
Look here is an example...and NO, I don't think it's a naked bike, but you can see just about the entire engine on it. The only part missing is the air intake/fuel delivery...and I don't see that part on our bikes either.
The Multistrada is NOT a naked motorcycle...in fact I would say that the SF is not a completely naked motorcycle, since it has body panels covering up the bottom radiator area...
