Exhaust Before or After 600 Mile Service???

Did a search and didn't really see much on the subject.

My Termis will be in tomorrow...just in time to install for the weekend.

However, I have read that the bike can run rather bad/rough if the TPS isn't reset immediately after install of the cans, ECU, and filter. I didn't plan on going to the dealer until my 600 mile service (another 400 miles to go).

Should I ride out the remaining 400 and THEN install the exhaust right before the service or would it be okay to install now?

I would wait till the service , go beat that puppy and make sure if anything is going to break do it before the 600 mile
I would have put them on before taking delivery ideally but , no harm...
Let us know how many srtipped over tight fasteners there are during the change over, or massive amounts of thread locker or the wrong type (permanent red type)
There that ought to scare you a bit...
Just kidding enjoy the bike...

No he's not kidding.

I was in shock how many bolts had red thread locker when replacing with aftermarket parts.

Definitely wait until after the 600 mile service to put those cans on.

Holy chit!!!

Seriously???

What sucks is that...I will get the service...install the system...then have to take it back for the TPS reset.

Crap

Talk to the dealer, put them on the day before you take it in for service - all fixed...

Install the pipes right now and wait for the ECU, the day before the service, or do it in the parking lot of the shop

Absolutely get the TPS reset immediately after changing the ECU. After I reflashed mine with the Tuneboy to get rid of the 3500 rpm dead spot (100% successful, btw) the bike literally stalled at 70mph a couple times on the ensuing test-ride. TPS reset fixed it no problem. Results may vary on how necessary the reset is after an ECU swap, but for safety sake I would ride it directly to the shop to get it reset if you're not having them do the install or you can't do the reset yourself. It should take 2 minutes, and if they're cool hopefully they won't really charge you anything (maybe if they know you'll be bringing it to them for the big services, anyway).

If you start now you can have that 400 done and still have the install tomorrow....
