Talking I feel back in love with my SFs again today!

I went and test drove the new Aprilia Tuono v4. First of all, the yellow is awful! I admit that I wouldn't buy any yellow bike but this particular yellow is fugly. The yellow seat was already turning black....

This is what I thought of it....

Comfort - It was very comfortable with the bars being much higher and wider than the SF.

Motor - Sounds amazing. Very smooth and easy reving. Fast when rev'd up.

Clutch/gearbox - Super lightweight clutch pull and nice shifting with power shifter.

Handling - Its best feature! Very easy to ride. Turns in and holds its line really nice.

Suspension - I'm sure it wasn't set up for my 165lbs but the forks were pretty lousy. The rear was fine.

Head turning - None! I went up the mountain among a bunch of bikes. Not one person even noticed it. I was shocked, it being new and all but it just looks like every other japanese bike.

Overall impression: I'm very happy (and relieved) to report that although its a nice bike at a great price, its no-where near the visceral experience I get on my SFs. It is very easy to ride and would be preferred for commuting or a long trip, but man did I get a big smile on my face when I got back on my bike. Every year during spring I get the fever for a new bike and I was starting to feel it bad recently. I'm happy to report now that after riding the Tuono, I was actually reminded how much I love my bike.

If your getting bored with yours, I'd recommend going and riding something else, you'll probably fall back in love with yours all over again....I did!

I could bet that picture was taken on crest highway (and you took the test ride from Proitalia), am I right??

On the other hand, there´s something wrong about the aprilia´s styling.....the headlight with the high bars remind me of a yamaha FZ6 or similar jap bike......

You are right!

And yes, coming from the SF, the front looks really strange when your sitting on it. The bars are way up high and the instruments are way out in front of you.

I've tried to like the Tuono V4. If I could somehow ride it and hear it without ever looking at it I would be fine. But I have eyes that work. It just doesn't visually work for me. I'm a fan of the older V-twin Tuono. It just looked better. I'm glad I have a SFS.

Well ..I feel i have to defend Tuono a bit

First a stock streetfighter is not so good looking !!

Unfair to compair your pimed out Sf aginst stock Tuono ..

And about not beeing noticed ..Tuono is so fast its hard to even se it

I Rode with my friend laste year he has an Sf s with alot of pimping on and guess who they came to and asked questions about .. yes me

And i drove his several times and to do this justice you need to have the bike for an longer time .. I feelt his Sf was like an slow diesel tractor conpaired to mine Refined faster Tuono V4

So , i agree that Sf look better but only marginaly when both are pimped out ..Well like everything its a matter of taste .

And Tuono is the better bike on track and road , but i think you will not agree here

Conpair sf down here aginst the Tuonos and see for an second opinion

I just can't get past the head on the Tuono, it does it no justice at all.

Can someone photoshop the SF head on it? Might look better that way.
