Horsepower with Double-Dog exhaust
I know this is probably already been answered in here before, but I searched and couldnt find a direct anwser. So heres the dilemma:
My 10' SF-S has a Double dog exhaust installed, but no tune. So I had a local dealer do 3 dyno runs to see where it stands. So I wonna know what others with the same exhaust are making on their bikes. Remember, this is stock ecu, with no tune.
So now, I am lost as what to do next:
either get a Microtek, power commander, or reflash the ecu 1st. I dont know where to begin. Oh, and I guess the exhaust has the two bungs in the same pipe, so I need to install a bung in the other pipe, and close off 1 of the previous ones. Tuner said, it must be done, in order to tune properly. Sound right? help me out here guys.

Sputnikz will reply with a similar experience. Don't think an airbox, or throttle bodies will help... I think the DD guys use Nemesis and am sure you could get a map from them if you went the same route.

I dont think a nemesis map will help me. I have to fix the common fueling issue at 2000-3500rpm, and then tune the bike for this exhaust. Look at 7k rpm, and how the torque dramatically cuts off. Its almost like the engine is cutting off the fuel at that point.

What FB is suggesting is that you get a Nemesis ECU and then use the map from Double-Dog...........it will undoubtedly help with both your 7K flat spot and your peak numbers.
It would still be best to do a few more dyno runs to fine tune it, but even without that I'd bet you'll see noticeable improvement.

I can help with this I am at another dealer in the eastside and I have this same set up. Don't use DDs map it is crap and hard to tune. Pm you email and I can get ahold of you Tuesday and give you some direction.

128 HPs - it is exactly what it was after DD exhaust was installed and before the Power Commander map was re-tuned.
The remapping recovered almost 12 "lost" HPs bringing the power output to almost 140 HPs. Still the resulted power was significantly less than what it was with Termi full exhaust system (by the way DD claims almost 10 additional HPs over the full exhaust).
I think getting 12 HPs back just from remapping is a huge. I can't imagine it would be possible to get 20 or 30 or even 40 HPs just by using Nemesis or other map... unfortunately.

I know you said the deaaler had no answer but any chance of sending an email or putting in a call to DD to see what they recommend for getting the numbers they advertise?

I suppose if you follow DD's recommendation, you should be able to get what they advertise for, which is pretty impressive (althought the numbers don't quite line up with the chart ). I would choose DD over Termi just beacasue of the looks too.
There was also a thread talking about SF getting over 160~180 at the back wheel, I am still not sure how they are done as I can't find any more special engine performance/racing parts for Streetfighter, which is a shame as I am keen to turn my SF into a track bike
