21.2 Stepper motor error code question?

So I get a 21.2 Stepper motor error and only comes on after I have been riding at least 20 minutes or so. When I come back to idle, for example at a stop sign, the light turns off. The bike idles fine and I have replaced the stepper motor and its still throws the same code. Any ideas on what it can be? Everyone tells me not to worry about it but its driving me crazy. My mechanic is going to try and chase it down but do you have any of of you have any insight to whats causing it ..
