Magnesium clutch housing?
First I did a search of this forum and ebay, and google for hours! Mine is crack "oem" and my Ducati shop said $700 for a new one. The mech pulled me to the side and said I should be able to get one "magnesium" for the same or a little more. I found one but its out of the states. Does anyone know of any vendor selling this part in the US?
Thanks for any help.
Ps At this point I'd buy a used stock one off a wrecked bike too. It's a 2010 if that makes any diff?

post in the for sale/wanted section, lots of people here have moved to open clutch covers so there are stock ones lying around.
that being said... you could also just pick up a open clutch cover and pressure plate for about 400ish new... even cheaper if you find a deal on a used one.

I have a feeling he is not talking about the clutch cover but rather then of the complete right case cover.

I have purchased the magnesium engine cover (just like on the image Shift-Tech posted) from Italian Ebay for around 400 dollars. Two months as the payment was made I still didn't get the cover. The seller insists it was mailed. But I have never received it. It is a second time I've got screwed from buying out of States.

Thats the part. Odd that the shop told me after market? Thanks for saving me some time.

This is why I was looking for a vendor in the US.

Bump.
Still looking for this part. I do not want to pay labor twice as I will be upgrading to a slipper at the same time. Just looked online again for hours and still only seeing an overseas vendor for this part!

I have researched this subject too. And from what I've "learned" there are no resellers in US stocking the magnesium clutch side engine covers. But there are a few NCR distributors around (like ProItalia for example) that could arrange NCR magnesium engine cover for you. But as everything else manufactured by NCR it is a costly part.

Alternatively, you could check out Gotham Cycles, a forum sponsor here. Just go to the Classifieds section, and click on their logo. Go to the Engine parts page and see what they have in stock for your bike.
