Replacing Waterpump Cover

Can someone please provide some guidance for the replacement of the water pump cover. I have bought a Speedymoto cover to replace the scratched original.

I would imagine that the coolant will need to be drained and refilled once the cover is replaced. I'm not sure about the bleeding process.

Thank you in advance.

Ive never actually replaced the cover itself, but fitted a couple of different protectors. While fitting these fluid has leaked out which suggests that you would need bleed the system There is a little screw/plug at the bottom of the lower radiator that is used to bleed the system. Ive read on here that its quite easy to do, just making sure you dont get any trapped air in the pipes once refilled.

I replaced mine about 2 months ago. drained the coolant at the bottom of the radiator and openned the cap.
I removed the cover and hose and cleaned the area off. I used some silicone sealant around the edges, not much. Install new cover and crush washer. Use small bolt from old cover if not damaged. Let the sealant dry for awhile.

For bleeding I just left the bottom bolt of the radiator off while topping off from the top. Once I saw a steady stream of coolant I reinstalled the bleeder screw. Then do the same for the top radiator(for got to mention, remove top and bottom radiator blessed screw before stating the bleeding process). Cap top screw when a steady steam comes out the hole. Now just top off the system and start the bike. Check levels and top again while engine is running. Top off coolant tank. That's all I did. After a test ride I let it cool down and check levels at the cap and tank.

There is. Good thread on bleeding. The guy pushed coolant from the bottom up. Something to that nature. I think it was in the "wisdom" section.

This is the way I do it on my bike and cars and works for me. So if anyone has a better let me know.

Thanks guys.

I will follow the process as described by meme.

Don't think I will reuse the old coolant as the bike seemed to run a bit hot.
