Very quick problem Clutch!

Hi all,

I am currently half way through fitting a new EVR Clutch, I opted to replace the Clutch drum with a NGR Billet unit. I am pretty sure but wanted to check either way that the inc. Cup Washer sits between the lock nut and the drum NOT between the drum and basket.

Has anyone fitted one of these? (I realise this is probably a stupid question to you boys that pull your bike to bits and re-build it again and again but I'm a beginner at do this stuff)

Cheers

Hi all (again),

I followed what I thought was best and placed the lock washer between the nut and the drum, finished putting it all together.

Then gave her a run,

My only issue now is that the clutch doesn't seem to be engaging completely. It is grabbing but not enough to propel it forward.

Any ideas?

I can't speak to the basket but ran into similar problems with the EVR unit. The initial install was with an Oberon slave... No luck so I switched back to the stock slave. Still didn't work right. So I ordered an EVR slave and all worked great. I can't remember for sure but I believe that the stock and Oberon unit wouldn't push the rod far enough to release the friction from the clutch plates. I played with the stack height to but couldn't get it to work. Basically the length of the stroke on the slave needs to be such that it allows the stock rod enough movement to both release the tension on the clutch plates due to the springs and enough travel to allow the springs to compress the stack of clutch and friction plates.

Hope that made sense.
