Rear Seat Cover

Just got the custom aluminum subframe installed. Just when I was almost ready to celebrate the install went so smooth I realized there is a sub-frame's tube sitting right at front of the rear-seat cover's hook entrance blocking the both holes (photo # 2 and # 3). I would really appreciate if someone with iPhone would make a quick photo of the stock subframe seen through that hole so I could have a reference... I hope I just somehow managed to install the tail improperly.. but that is unlikely since there are four bolts that hold the tail in place. There are no much chances to install the tail wrong...
I put the stock and an aluminum subframes on the scale. The stock weights 8 lb. The aluminum weights 3.

I didnt get a pipcture, but the cross member there should be plush with the underside of the tail. If it is not, then either your tail is not sitting fully down or the cross member is not correctly placed on the subframe.

You have to go with your tail not being fully seated first. In any case you need to ascertain if it is sitting down on the sub frame fully either by removing it to compare to the stock subframe or by remounting it in case you missed something that is causing it to not sit fully flush.

Either way, you have to be able to see what's going on while it's mounted, or remove the tail, at which point you can check the OEM sub against that sub. You probably already know all this..... nice.

Damn Sputniks that's a really nice bike. That CF tail section alone is enough to make me happy. Let alone the new aluminum subframe. I hope you get this sorted out. I would take a picture of my SF for you, but I've already been drinking vodka. It is New Years Eve after all. I would have to go out in my garage that's 45F and get the fitted cover off my SF and then try to take a good picture with my iPhone. At this point I don't think I could take a good picture that would help you anyway.

This is Ducati Performance Neoprene Seat.
BellissiMoto sells it for $ 199:

The "lights" are just the red reflective rim stripes. ProItalia in Glendale, Ca sells those for 20 dollars or so. The stripes come with the plastic applicator making an already easy job of sticking the stripes to the rims even easier.
