Question Fitting DP Clutch Pressure Plate Question

I have just bought a nice DP ventilated clutch pressure plate and the instructions give fitting instructions for SBK, Monster and Hypermotard but not the SF. The options are effectively to use no washers (SBK), one washer (Monster) or two washers (Hyper) for each spring. Any guidance please?

Depending on which washers you are talking about I installed one washer behind the clutch hub on top of the funny shaped spacer. Each slipper is different but I used the following website for instructions for my Bucci DP slipper.

It's just a plate no slipper clutch. The washers are described as "spring loading washers" and later as "shims under pressure plate". There are 5 configurations. For SBK, no washers/shims or a single washer/shim on 3 of the 6 springs. For Monster, one washer/shim for each spring or 3 with one and 3 with 2. For Hyper, 2 washers/shims on each spring.

The instructions indicate that using all the washers will decrease effort at the lever. I'm inclined to think that is just bad translation and really means less lever travel but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

The washers decrease spring tension, which decreases lever effort. I leave them out. I reduced lever effort with an aftermarket slave cylinder.

I also have the do plate. No washers used. But make sure the plate is lined up with the marks on the housing.

I think I might pop 3 in and see how it goes. I have some stainless springs on order anyway and they might make a difference.

I had some SpeedyMoto SS springs on one of my clutches a couple of years back. They look good and did't rust, but they "compressed" over time faster than the OEM springs. They were well out of limits after about 8k miles. So, just be aware to check them when you do the 6/7.5K services.

I've never used any washers on the springs.

I held off fitting the pressure plate until I had an Oberon slave cylinder as well. I suffered a bad case of arm pump on a trip to a rally at the end of January. Stop start traffic due to an accident and it was all uphill. I nearly had to pull over it got that bad. Should have held off on fitting the shorty Pazzo levers!

Fitted everything today and am pleased with the results. Nice pull on the clutch but the proof will be in a ride in traffic.
