Hasta Luego
After almost 2 years with my SF, I decided having a bike with more skill than myself was probably not the best idea.
I put it on CL Thurs night, and less than 24 hours later it was riding away. Ouch. I was not entirely sure I was doing the right thing.
I had always admired K1200Rs, educated myself on them a bit over the years, but had never ridden one. I found a crazy, crazy clean and modified one the same day I put the CL ad up, and today I rode it. As much as I love the SF and I will miss it, the K1200R is a better bike for me right now.
I still, however, have a bike that deserves it's own theme song:
I suspect I will still poke my head in here occasionally to catch BZR's donkey show act, and Sputnik's bank account drain.

Good luck with the new ride when you get it.

By the way, the builder of this bike is claiming 185ish at the rear wheel.
If it does, I can tell you down low, it's the biggest pussycat ever. It was funny, the guys at the dealership as I was gearing up for the test ride, were going on and on about how fast it was.
Coming from the SF, the word "scooter" came to mind. Maybe I'll amend that when I get it on a long stretch above 7K.
Incidentally, a scooter by comparison is just kinda what I need to make my riding skills go further, so everything is working out.

I'm sad to hear that you sold your SF. I have always liked the BMW-K1200R. I thought about getting one before I got my SFS. They are similar but very different bikes. The BMW is very powerful but bigger and heavier than the SF. The BMW probably feels less powerful on the bottom end due to the smoothness of the large I4 engine versus the large piston angry L-twin in the SF. This can be deceiving going from one to the other. It's not the same as comparing a small buzzy 600cc inline four to a twin. I also have a large CC inline 4 and it does feel more tame on the bottom than the SF. In my case the inline 4 is not slower. It just feels that way due to the different engine characteristics between the two engines. In your case I don't think you really purchased a slower bike or a bike that you're less likely to get into trouble with. The BMW may not be as light or as angry as the SF, but it's still plenty fast.

It may run like a scooter for you but the last time I rode one to me it handled like a truck...
Good luck with it and have fun, and don't get caught by the Borg riding their bike.

I really like my SF but I want to test ride to ride a Husky Nuda and possibly switch to that. Based on the reviews I've read it is supposed to be ultra nimble, somewhere between a sport bike and a supermoto, which is what I'm looking for.

Lol! - it certainly ranks up their amongst the most fugly bikes ever created...!!!
Not criticizing you there Direktor; you know, one man's trash is another man's treasure....and all that...
Since were talking KRs and Nuda's (ie - ugly bikes!), do SF owners secretly hanker for a "mongrel" in their garage? I'v got to admit, i'm considering a Stelvio for some serious outback touring - talk about ugly!!

Case in point, I've had people tell me to my face they thought the SF was horrible.
I think the headlight on the K1200R looks dated now, and so does the tail.
I rode another 75 miles on the KR today, and I now know without a doubt it is the right bike for me right now. I wish I could say that about the SF. I think the SF was more about what kind of rider I wish I was, rather than the rider I am. It took me almost 2 years of watching my ass on that bike to finally realize it.
A good friend who's a more experienced rider than I, after I told him I sold it, mentioned "That bike had a whole fuck of a lot going on. Riding it is a job".
a fun job, but....he really hit the nail on the head for a less experienced guy like me.

p.s.
biggest downside is I hate the I4 whine. I would like to have my thump back.
