I stopped at Pro Italia-Glendale today. They had Brembo Monoblock sitting on a shelf. I think it was a "nickel-plated" version.
I have to admit those CNC machined calipers look really cool. I lifted one of them to see in more details. I noticed how heavy it was comparing to the stock cast caliper (which they had on a shelf too).... while being three times more expensive.
How much difference in a braking CNC machined calipers make? Does anyone have any experience with them? I noticed those calipers come as "stock" with NCR Millona which is known to be a very light bike (280 pounds?). But why would NCR go with the heavier CNC Brembos for the front then?
Edit: I looked at the specs. And it appears that the weight difference was caused by the fact that CNC caliper was already assembled with the pads while the stock caliper wasn't. According to the specifications a CNC caliper weights 710 grams. The stock cast M4 unit weights 800 grams.
The stock caliper "M4":

It appears there are two mounting standards for the front calipers (where they are bolted to the fork bottom): 100 mm and 108 mm. Does the wider (108mm) mounting pattern make any difference comparing to a shorter 100 mm one?
