Replacement Parts

Hi Everyone,

I'm a long time reader here on this forum and relatively new to road bikes (long term mx and enduro rider). I considered myself a quick rider after finishing Keith Codes school and attending many track days. The 2010 Streetfighter S has been a fantastic bike.

Any who, last weekend on a fast ride through the hills on a left hand bend I hit some rough road and lost the front resulting in a low side. I don't want to spend truck loads on the repair as a deposit has been paid on a 1199S. Can you please provide some advice on suitable replacements for the following:

1. Front and rear axial nuts have minor damage and will be replaced
2. Water pump has been grazed
3. Rear left side indicator is broken
4. Handlebar has a nice chamfered end
5. Clutch lever broken in half
6. Tank has a graze and minor imprint from horn button - respray
7. Tail piece has a graze - respray
8. Lower radiator shroud has a graze
9. Left peg is bent and gear selector folded flat
10. Mirror has a graze and should be replace
11. Bar end has gone and hand grip is stuffed

I would really appreciate any assistance.

BTW my Arai helmet is being replaced for Christmas from my good wife. The Dainese leathers look fine other than a slight tear on the inside on the left leg.

If your horn button made contact with the gas tank the steering stops on the frame probably have damage. Your front forks may also be out of alignment from the accident. These are two other things to check. The steering stops are a bit of a problem since they're part of the frame.

You don't want to spend a whole lot of money on repairs, but want advice on where to get cheap stuff? That's easy. Check the classifieds section, and ebay. What specifically were you trying to get help with?

I mean, do you want it back to perfect original condition? If so, you're going to have to suck it up and pay up the ass. Would you be happy with just a working condition? If so, just replace what's necessary. Or, get expensive after market stuff and bring it back to better-than-stock conditions.

Its pretty cut and dry as to what to do. Fix it, or don't fix it.

Above all, don't go too cheap, as you'll get what you paid for.
