Cool streetfighter for touring?

I have been interested in touring lately.

I haven't done any longer trip with my SF but what do you guys think? I got my girlfriend who also is really into, say... taking the road down to spain up from sweden.

Now the question is if i should equip my SF with the touring saddle and also the touring pillion saddle, geting some protection like frame protection, fork protectors, sliders etc. radiator protection. Geting the Givi bags and tank bag.

Basically everything seem to be possible for a touring setup except a good windscreen.

Now if iam serious about touring then should i get rid off my SF and get a multistrada? I've been into HD too ( night rod special or fat boy special ).

The SF is fine for touring with light side bags on a solo trip. I can ride mine all day for many days no problem.

But honestly, forget trying to tour two-up. There's just not enough load capacity for two people and luggage and the bike is not comfortable for a passenger, the touring seat is only marginally better than the stock seat.

Get a Multi if you really want to tour. I have both bikes and my wife won't even get on the SF.
I wouldn't hesitate to take the Multi for weeks or even months. The MTS is just much more fun and more comfortable for touring and 2-up riding.

I bought the multi as a replacement for my FJR1300 sport tourer and I'm surprised but we like it even better than the Yam.
I'm really surprised but Candie finds the MTS more comfortable than the FJR, and we loved the FJR!

Plus... you can ride it off road too.

(OH and, Screw the HD crap!)

If you were serious about the HD Nighttrain - just go for the Diavel - more power and comfort.

I've done a number of 1000-1500 mile weekends on this bike. I use the famsa tank bag and the cortech tailbag. You might also consider the cortech saddlebags to go with the tailbag. Bike is very comfortable. More wind buffeting at highway speeds than on a sport tourer but no biggy.

you can't realistically tour two up on a streetfighter unless your passenger wears a back pack.

I don't think you could enjoy touring 2 up on a streetfighter at all.....I´ve been to socal last october and rented a multistrada 1200 and we really enjoyed the 4 days on the bike, we put over 1200 miles and it was really comfortable, plus the bike is really capable on the twisties (and very very easy to ride with passenger and side luggage fully loaded). When I came back from this trip, I got a triumph tiger 800 for touring, haven't been able to take it out yet but I think it will be okay for those long rides (kept the SF of course!)

Streetfighter is a superb single person ST. Only a bag of some sort (tank or saddle) is needed to go. Seat is fine.

Personally, I think riding 2 up sucks (for me) all the time on any bike. It sucks extra (for her) on the Streetfighter. I took my wife out for a single 30 minute ride shortly after I bought it and it bruised her ass. She told me it was ok to sell her riding gear. LOL If you're bent on touring with you lady, get her on her own bike.

It is not sustainable for all to won their own bike, or car... We must face it..
I dont own a car because it is the most wasteful vehicle out there. Iam ready to invest a larger sum in a bike that is efficient and can do more than just take me to work.

I am arriving to the conclusion that the MTS is the best bike out there, not only as for ducati but on the entire market.
