ECU tuning question

I have a Nemesis ECU and have been wrestling with getting the bike to idle at the idle set point (1350). The bike "wants to idle at 3000rpm when auto tune is running and the ECU is changing the base map from a rich condition (AFR between 10 and 11) to the set point of 13.2. When I manually adjust cells in the map that were changed by the ECU in auto tune back to the rich condition I am to achieve the idle set point of 1350. I have also found I am able to bring the RPM down be decreasing the timing advance.

Could someone help me understand what is going on here. I have to think that regardless of ECU manufacturer the principles would be the same.

If the spark map happens to be off....how then am I to adjust at higher RPM's...dyno I'm guessing??? Only problem is there really isn't one around

Sorry prematurely sent. So there really isn't anyone I have heard of around the Cincinnati area that has a dyno and people are comfortable using.

I guess I am hoping someone could give me a little direction on why reducing the advance and increasing the fuel brings the idle down.

Thanks,

Bill

This would be passed on advice that Mark at the DucShop mentioned when speaking of autotune and the MicroTec.... Do not let autotune adjust the cells that are at the top of the map (lowest TPS position across the board). These cells should be left alone.

If autotune messed with these, you may want to reload your basemap, and start over, or at least copy those cells back into the map. The idle settings were on another "page", if I recall... it's been a while.

All else fails, take it to a competent tuner for a good basemap, then use that to massage with autotune. That is what I did with Mark and it saves a ton of work having someone dyno it proper so that anything you tweak should only be minor.
