That guy is super smooth with the pinstriping!

Indianfighter to your rescue. I had thought about exploring opportunities to get tanks manufactured here after reading all your woes but didn't know who would be interested. Cost of labour and manufacturing here is relatively cheap, and we don't need to settle for something that fits, I'm pretty sure a replica can be made.

What I liked about the pinstriping was the look of pride and satisfaction on the Artist face when he was done...
Anybody can do the work ,now if they have the same quality of materials and the correct manufacturing procedures , with the same tollerances why doesn't Ducati get them on board?

Indianfighter, I've seen some other videos and pics from some other boards I visit.... India has some REALLY good craftsman when it comes to working with metal. I see no reason why they could not do this.

if any manufacturer in india started to release current plastic model duc tanks at that cost they would have a ridiculous amount of business.
i'm pretty sure every sf owner on this board would drop $300 without blinking an eye for a sf tank in aluminum. get them to produce al tanks for monsters and they will be rolling in it.

IndianFighter... I should have remembered you for this. One of the biggest problems is ensuring the quality is consistent and things are 100% before they ship. Someone needs to be on the ground over there to run things. I will send a PM to JC on the SportClassic forum and hook you two up. Of course India is huge but my experience here in the US shows that if someone is in the country you can get more done.
Everyone will have huge concerns about quality with anything from India and that is understandable. That does not mean it cannot be done though.

Anything can be made in India. The quality depends on the price one is willing to pay. I'm sure you can get tanks made costing from 100 dollars to 2000 but eventually you will get what you pay for.
Though this is not my field of business, I have a lot of mates in the metals business who I can talk to for advice and guidance.
I will need advice from knowledgeable folks here about what is involved in manufacturing these. What kind of alu alloy or any other substitute metal, what does the manufacturing process entail, etc. Do you guys think these can be made by hand? The shapes look complex and maintaining consistency in handmade jobs may be difficult right? I'm also pretty sure cnc machines and other automated methods are freely available here.
I saw the ebay tank and from looks it seems a bit shady but it's just 300 dollars, someone like jcpac should be able to gamble that amount to see what it's like. For larger orders I can help arrange QC.
Ducnut, I got your PM. Ask jcpac to be in touch with me, I'll try my best to help out. I'm going to be out of town until monday night so let's take it up after that. Meanwhile let's keep the discussion ongoing here.

I'll send the container over to get filled and provide the warehouse here in the US to distribute from.
