Akrapovic Titanium Slip On Review - Anyone?
Anyone here running these slipons that can provide a review of:
- The quality of the pipes
- How easy it is to remove the db-killers and replace them for street/track use
- How they sound compared to Termi slipons?
- Perhaps some photos?

- The quality of the pipes They're Akra's. The quality is superb.
- How easy it is to remove the db-killers and replace them for street/track use Extremely easy. Allen wrench is all you need, and one set screw per can.
- How they sound compared to Termi slipons? That'd be a personal preference thing. But I doubt even you would be able to tell the difference between the two.
- Perhaps some photos? Sorry, can't supply some for you, but there's pleny of pictures online that you can find.

If you're contemplating buying a set, I bought my Ti Akras from Motowheels for $1198 shipped...

The db-killers are a little bit of a hassle to get on and off. Each is held in place by one allen bolt, but with the pipes mounted, the lower bolt is not easy to get to, being right next to the rear tire. To put them back on you have to have the db insert lined up in exactly the right position inside the inner pipe so that the bolt can go into the threaded hole in the db insert. Not that easy to do. Very neat fit, so they're pretty tight when you have carbon build-up in the pipe.
Don't know how they compare to Termis tho.
But the pipes are great. I strongly recommend running them with the slip-on performance ECU. My bike runs much better since I swapped out the stock ECU and got it mapped. Huge difference!
I love the look of the Akras, more than the Termis, but that's my personal preference.

Are you referring to the DP ECU to match together with the Akras? Problem with living where I am is the ridiculous laws regarding aftermarket exhausts for bikes. Firstly, they have to be inspected once installed and the certificate must be carried with you at all times in case you get stopped by the cops. Second, is that removing the DB-killers are considered illegal, and the fine is as much as putting on an illegal (race) pipe.
As the TI Akras are certified legal here, that led me to the above question about inserting/removing the baffles. I was initially under the impression it was very difficult, but by the sound of it, it's do-able in a few minutes. I want to hear the 'real' sound of the bike, and the baffles will be in for commuting/in city riding. When I'm heading out to the boonies/twisties, that's when I'll remove them - so I'd like to have the options. I'm really sold on how amazing the carbon termis sound like on my friend's SF.
The TI Akras on a 1098 I saw today look and sound great, but they don't sound as loud/aggressive as the carbon termis (i guess due to the cat present in the TI Akras). Anyone have any comments on perhaps the TI Termis vs Carbon Termis - related to sound?

My Ti Akras have no catalytic converters present...and you can modifiy the db killers to get more flow/sound out of them while still looking stock...

I'm curious, is the sound difference with the baffle in vs out a lot different? I know a lot is subjective but I'm trying to decide on which exhaust for my bike and I'm very interested in the Akrapovic option but can;t get a good answer to my question. Any info is appreciated!
