Need prompt help. Dealer is telling me no warranty on my tank

My sf tank has swollen. The dealer is saying that since my two year warranty was up in Sept that I may be out of luck unless the area service manager "good wills" my tank.

I though this whole mess was covered now for 5 years. Am I wrong? Can someone provide me documentation to show them otherwise?

Has your dealer heard back from Ducati North America yet?...if not, then it's a little early to be in panic mode.

Why not email DNA at customerservice@ducati.com, or give them a call 408 253-0499 ext 4411.

Sent them pictures a week ago. Service tech called me today stating bike was out of.warranty and the regional guy "may" good will it. Wants more pictures and my ownership history. Also asked if I was willing to pay install cost. I said no.

You should be talking to the Service Manager, not the tech...when an item is replaced under warranty, Ducati reimburses the dealership for the labor costs involved.

Apparently this dealer doesn't sell many bikes, OR they're just trying to wring you out.

Ducati does the "good will" thing on almost all the tanks, to my knowledge. Within warrantee or not, that's what they class it under.

I don't know of anybody that's been denied on this. If they do it to you, I'd see another dealer and never visit this one again because it's too suspicous.

If I end up on the short of this I will be going away from Ducati as well. Really stinks because I am a loyal buyer and fan. This is my third.

Sorry to read about this issue nele22, I have had some dealer issues and found it was quite helpful going right over their heads when they felt like jerking me around and contacting Ducati customer service in Italy. The company seemed quite willing to sort out any issues but it seems that there are some bad apples around in their dealer network who think that their status makes them Bruce Almighty or something Someone already posted the email address for you customerservice@ducati.com, otherwise on ducati.com you can fill out their contact form under company>customer service, the link is at the bottom of the page. I hope it works out for you!

Also just FYI people have been saying that drying out the tank completely will return it to "normal" size.
I'm not sure how much truth is in it but if the paint hasn't cracked it's probably worth a shot taking it off, draining it and washing it out thoroughly... maybe even get it coated.
